Description
Discover our top-of-the-line 35 Amp 3 Pole Mercury Displacement Relay with a 120VAC holding coil. Designed and crafted to meet the most stringent industry demands, our mercury displacement relays have earned their reputation as reliable solutions for the toughest electrical challenges. They excel in scenarios where standard equipment might falter, showcasing their resilience in the face of extreme temperatures, dust, moisture, and various applications.
Key Features:
- Swift Operation: With an ultra-responsive operate time of just 50 milliseconds and a release time of 80 milliseconds, our mercury displacement relays ensure efficient and precise control over electrical circuits.
- Low Contact Resistance: Achieve optimal conductivity with contact resistances as low as 0.003 ohms for 35-AMP units and 0.002 ohms for 60-AMP units.
- Exceptional Durability: Built for the long haul, our relays provide millions of reliable cycles, making them a smart choice for continuous operation.
- Wide Temperature Range: Perform flawlessly in temperatures ranging from -35 degrees Celsius to 85 degrees Celsius, demonstrating their adaptability to various environments.
- Secure Terminal Connections: Coil terminals feature #6 binding head screws, while load terminals utilize pressure connectors compatible with A.W.G. #4 - #14 on 35-AMP units and A.W.G. #2 - #8 on 60-AMP units.
- Certifications: Our relays hold UL Listing (File #E62767) for 35 and 60-AMP N.O. Units 1-4 Poles and C.S.A. certification (File #LR41198) for 35 and 60-AMP N.O. Units (Heater Loads) 1-3 Poles. They are also approved for Class 1, Groups A, B, C, and D, Division 2 hazardous locations (UL File #E71867). For hazardous locations, simply add the -X suffix to the part number.
Mercury to Metal Contactors:
These relays feature a unique design where load terminals are electrically isolated by a hermetic glass seal. The plunger assembly, which consists of a ceramic insulator, magnetic sleeve, and related components, hovers above a mercury pool. When the coil is energized and generates a magnetic field, the plunger assembly is drawn into the mercury pool, making contact with the electrode. This action seamlessly closes the circuit between the top and bottom load terminals, both connected to a sturdy stainless steel can.
Proper Fusing is Essential:
While our Mercury Displacement Relays excel at handling high inrush loads, especially lamp loads, they are susceptible to damage from short circuit currents. To mitigate this risk, we recommend using fast-acting UL class RK-1 and class J fuses, as well as semiconductor I2t fuses. These specialized low-peak fuses effectively limit short circuit currents, ensuring the protection of your relays. Always monitor relay operations closely after a short circuit event to detect any concealed damage that could lead to inconsistent performance.
IMERC State Restrictions:
Please note that due to state regulations, Gordo Sales cannot ship Mercury-added products, including Relays, Switches, and Floats, to the following IMERC states: Connecticut (CT), Minnesota (MN), Maine (ME), Massachusetts (MA), New Hampshire (NH), New York (NY), Rhode Island (RI), or Vermont (VT). These states are part of the Interstate Mercury Education and Reduction Clearinghouse (IMERC), which imposes these restrictions.
Exemptions are being sought for cases where Mercury Relays and Switches are used to replace original equipment with Mercury Relays and Switches. However, as of now, we are unable to fulfill orders for these states.
